Miniature workshop made for Bitsy Jam 97 - Obsolete
Salvage a copper plate out of the scrap pile, polish it to a mirror shine, coat it in ground and etch into it a mysterious world.
Printmaking is a finicky, arcane, unforgiving process that can often feel more like alchemy. Which only makes it more astonishing when it works well, when it all unexpectedly comes out right and produces something beautiful.
I love when games try to replicate some degree of friction and tactility. Things like pulling levers in Myst or trying to do basically anything in Warioware microgame. I was going for this effect here too, although a lot of steps in the printmaking process turn out to just involve applying or removing various viscuous substances to a copper plate, which would probably become tedious in a longer game.
